ABSTRACT
BURO DAP (Development + Architecture + Planning), in cooperation with Faculty of Habitat Sciences (Urban and Architecture Programs) from Universidad de La Salle, Bogotá, Colombia and Department of Architecture, College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET), India organized a three week long international workshop in April 2014. The workshop was organized under the framework of “International Cooperation and Urban Development”. Faculty members and 45 students from Universidad de La Salle and CET, and experts of BURO DAP participated in the workshop. The inaugural session on April 12, 2014 at School Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi was followed by the workshop sessions in Raipur, Naya Raipur, Trivandrum, and Mumbai respectively. Moreover, experts from BURO DAP, academic institutions, government agencies of Colombia, USA, India and Thailand contributed to prepare the contents of this unique program.
This collaborative effort of Universidad de La Salle, CET, and BURO DAP has been planned to foster academic and research ties between India and Colombia in the larger context of “South to South Cooperation”. BURO DAP strives to achieve the following goals by expanding the “International Cooperation and Urban Development” program worldwide.
GOALS OF THE PROGRAM
To achieve distinctions as a program that fosters professional learning through engagement.
To foster multi – perspective education, through team teaching, themes across courses, and collaboration across specializations and disciplines.
To advance the profession through research, including publications, theoretical and practical advances, and research opportunities for students, academicians, and professionals.
